At EVH, we use offer a combination of western and eastern approaches towards lameness and performance issues. Each case is approached in a unique way and may warrant conventional lameness diagnostics or an assessment from a traditional Chinese medicine approach. Acupuncture, herbals, laser therapy, PEMF and/or regenerative treatments are selected based on our assessment and your needs. We strive to offer the best therapies possible without the risks of causing more pain, damage, and side effects often encountered with conventional medicine.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is based on traditional Chinese theory and validated by western medical research to reduce pain, inflammation, and anxiety. Acupuncture also boosts energy, performance, and mood. We frequently use electroacupuncture which is excellent for nerve and muscle function and can increase muscle mass.
Laser Therapy
PEMF
Laser therapy works on a cellular level to increase blood flow and anti-inflammatory cytokines which results in improved pain, inflammation, and healing. We also have acupuncture probes for our laser to stimulate points for horses that are less tolerant to needles.
Respond Systems whole body PEMF system treats the neck, legs, back, and stifles with a potent pulsed signal electromagnetic frequency. PEMF therapy has excellent research for reducing inflammation, pain, improving circulation to expedite healing, and promote cartilage regeneration.
